Frangipani for sale
Why buy plumeria from Matakana Frangipani?
All our Frangipani plants come with a 3 page growing information sheet & ongoing support from us.
Very IMPORTANT - all our plants are grown from cuttings that have flowered:
This means that we know the exact colour of the flower of the plant you buy, we know it has flowered already as a cutting and with the right conditions will flower again in it’s first summer. This is important as seed grown plants (what the major NZ chain garden store/nurseries sell), will take a minimum of 2-3 years to many many years to flower.
Passionate enthusiasts:
We are crazy about tropical plumeria, also known as frangipani. Our dedication and expertise have resulted in a blooming good collection of beautiful frangipani plants. The majority of what we grow are the traditional, beautifully scented, white flowers with yellow centres. We also have a smaller number of colourful frangipani varieties.
Elegant white flowers:
Frangipani flowers are tubular, expanding into a pinwheel of five petals. Having been grown from cultivars, the waxy blooms are highly fragrant and can bloom for extended periods. Plumeria typically begins blooming in late spring and continues until early autumn.
Guaranteed to bloom:
Our plants have been lovingly grown from cuttings that have all flowered. Having the exact DNA as the parent plant, they are strong, healthy plants and guaranteed to bloom in the right conditions.
Careful nurturing:
These plants are grown indoors in a heated tunnel house. This special care results in frangipani for sale that are stronger and approximately one and a half to twice the height, with a wider trunk than outdoor-grown plants of the same age. They have had a fantastic start, making them easily transplantable.
Loads of flowers:
More branches mean more flowers. The frangipani plants we have for sale have 2-3 main branches with many splitting into more growing heads. Growing heads all have the potential into turn into a flower head. Our more mature plants have 9-12 branches, ensuring loads of stunning blooms.
Easy care:
Frangipani care is relatively simple. As long as they receive warm sunshine and aren’t over-watered, you can enjoy this spectacular tropical plant in your home for many years with minimal effort. They thrive in a north-facing location with a wall that retains heat during the day e.g. beside the house, a wall or solid fence.
Add a touch of the tropics:
The beautiful flowers, set against exotic, large green leaves can recreate the feel of a luxury resort in your own garden. Pair them with palms, ferns, bananas, hibiscus, bromeliads and yucca for shape, colour and texture.
